Mr. Chewan Rai is one among the influential young future leaders of Nepal. He is the Co-founder of Youth Thinkers Society and President at Sahayata Nepal. He chairs a consortium comprised of more than 15 enterprises, which employs more than 400 young people for its operations. Business aside, he is involved in various social initiatives that works with an aim of sharing compassion and making positive humanitarian impact through collective action. He works with UN Women Nepal as one of the Members of the Civil Society Advisory Group and has been working as a policy researcher and legal consultant to various UN Agencies, Government offices and other national/international organizations for more than 5 years. Apart from UN and MUNs, he has been extensively involved in developing youth led sustainable enterprises in Nepal. Speaking about his educational background he is a graduate in Law(LL.B) with major in Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Law. He also has an additional Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies with expertise in Marketing and Related support services.
Mr. Purna Chandra Lal Rajbhandari has three decades of experience as Government officer at local and national level as UNEP environmental officer at Asia-Pacific and Global level in the field of Environment, Climate Change and conservation of the Natural Resources. He assisted the implementation of UNEP activities on environmental assessments and capacity building at the regional, sub-regional, national levels; and environmental projects in Afghanistan and DPRK Korea since 1999 while he worked at Regional Resource Centre of the United Nations Environment Program (AIT-UNEP RRC) in Bangkok. Mr. Rajbhandari was previously served as Government officer in the Department of Soil Conservation and Watershed Management (DSCWM), Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation. At DSCWM, he has worked on development and implementation of environmental and watershed management projects at district and national level. His educational background includes Agricultural Engineering from India. Master in Natural Resource Management from Bangkok, and Master in Public Administration from Nepal.
Mrs. Rajani Amatya Rajbhandari has three decades of experience as a researcher and consultant both in national and international organizations. She has assisted in urban related projects, educational and social activities of deprived community and gender equality. She has also worked as a research associate for UNDP funded project “Global Network on Energy for Sustainable Development (GNESD)” and “Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)” for organizing workshops, under Energy Program of AIT, Thailand. Also, she has worked as Project Associate Environment and Gender Equality) for the Southeast Asia Urban Environment Management Project (SEA-UEM), School of Environment Resources and Development, Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. Her educational background includes Bachelor’s as a microbiologist from Nepal, Masters in Science from Urban Environmental Engineering and Management (UEEM) Program, Thailand.
